ARTIST BIO

Charlotte Beare works from her home studio in Martinstown near Dorchester. She paints mainly in oils and acrylics, creating landscapes, portraits and still lifes. She is inspired by the impressionists and loves to paint loosely and expressively, playing with colour, light and shade. Notable Commissions

August 2024 - Commissioned by Lord-Lieutenant for Dorset, Angus Campbell to create a painting of Dorchester High Street to be presented as a retirement gift for the Deputy Clerk to the Lieutenancy

25 May - 9 June 2024, Artist in Residence with Hall & Woodhouse, Sponsor of Dorset Art Weeks - Applied and was chosen for a Commission and Residency coinciding with Dorset Art Weeks 2024. Charlotte created a series of 3 paintings depicting three different Hall & Woodhouse pubs.

Sept 2023 - Commissioned by Kim Slowe, Chair of Trustees at Kennedy’s Disease UK to paint a Christmas Card featuring a winter scene of Queen Square Gardens and the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery.
